Pastor Johnny Chase
Senior Pastor

Pastor Johnny and his wife Shantrel met at North Central University , in Minneapolis, Minnesota . They have four sons, Zac, Taylor, Noah, and Micah. The Chases served as youth pastors in Tennessee and Louisiana during their first eight years of ministry. God has also used Johnny as a youth evangelist. He has spoken at many youth events, including camps, retreats, revivals and leadership seminars. During those years of ministry, Johnny and Shantrel experienced great success and God used then to impact the lives of many young people.

Johnny grew up in a pastor's home, the son of John and Brenda Chase. Watching his father's success in ministry as a pastor and sought-after camp meeting speaker, Johnny has spent a lifetime being mentored for such a time as this. Having been blessed to serve as youth pastor at three great churches, Johnny feels that what he has learned from the different pastors and their leadership styles has helped prepare him to be the best pastor he could be for Discover Life Church.

Shantrel grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota . Her parents, Stan and Florene Foresman, have been involved in ministry as long as Shantrel can remeber, doing everything from teaching marriage classes, to leading cell groups. Her father served many years as a board member, and her four brothers have all been involved in ministry. Shantrel has worked in women's ministry and children's ministry, and is excited about what God is doing at Discover Life Church.

The Chase family came to Johnson City in January of 2002 , and they are believing that God will use them and DLC to impact the Tri-Cities for the Kingdom of God.

Amy Burnett
Children's Pastor

Amy grew up in Bluff City, TN and moved to Johnson City 2 ½ years ago.  She has always had a heart for children.  Since High school, she has been involved in children’s ministry in various areas. She has been a Missionettes teacher and a Sunday school teacher through the years and now has taken over Children’s Church at Discover Life Church. 

Orlando Torres

Worship Pastor

Orlando Torres and his wife Jackie are the newest edition to DLC.  They are very excited and looking forward to what God has planned in these coming years.

Orlando and Jackie were married in August of 1998 together they have three wonderful children, Anthony, Alissa and Arianna.  Orlando and Jackie were both saved at a very early age and growing up their parents were always involved in ministry.  Both of their fathers were pastors/ evangelists. Orlando has been singing in churches for most of his life and has been a worship leader for the past eight years.  He has attended various worship workshops with Willow Creek Church and Worship Central hosted by Tim Hughes. 

Orlando enjoys composing songs and doing concerts. He has been on tour with VOTA formally Casting Pearls and has opened up for Phil Joel and other artists.  His heart is to see the church grow and to see people changed through the power of God and how it relates to humanity on a personal level through worship and songs. Jackie is pursuing a degree in business.  She has written various play scripts and has a heart to minister through drama. She loves to reach out to people and hear there stories. She is very fun loving and out going and has a willingness to serve where God leads.

Mike and Tammy Robbins
Youth Pastors
Fusion Groups/Fine Arts

Mike and Tammy grew up in southwest Virginia and were married in 1991. From early on they both shared a definite call to ministry. While attending high school and college they served as Sunday school teachers and eventually youth pastors. They've seen many students come to Christ during their 14 years of ministry to young people.

Mike and Tammy have also been involved in Fine Arts ministry for 9 years. During that time their students have recorded 8 State Championships and 1 National top 10 finish. Their passion is to see students transformed by God's love and to help them discover, develop and deploy their unique ministry gifts and talents. Mike and Tammy believe that helping students do ministry is an important aspect of their long term spiritual growth. Mike is a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God and a 1998 graduate from East Tennessee State University with a Masters in Technology. He also currently serves as the Tri-Cities section youth representative.

Tammy has had a special heart for children for as long as she can remember. She has worked with almost every age while teaching Sunday school and helping with children's church. Tammy is a 1996 graduate from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Social Work and is employed by Frontier Health.
